As students enter the main gym, a sea of eager faces, cloaked in a blizzard of white fills the room. The embodiment of senior pride lights up the space. The air is electric, filled with the promise of an unforgettable time.
Before Friday’s football game against Lebanon Trail at The Ford Center, StuCo is hosting its senior white-out pep rally during advisory.
“The purpose of the senior pep rally is to celebrate all the time and dedication our football, band, drill team, cheer, and color guard seniors have put into our school,” senior, and StuCo vice president, Lily Leyden said.
According to StuCo president and senior Haley Ward, students can look forward to a fun event with performances and a game.
“Students can expect to see performances from cheer, drill team, and color guard at the pep rally,” Ward said. “We are also doing ‘senior head-choppers’ with the seniors from the drill team, cheer, and yearbook. We are also having a game of tug of war between seniors and teachers.”
Since the beginning of her red rhythm journey, senior and captain Reva Kabnurkar has eagerly anticipated her upcoming performance.
“Performing in this pep rally has always been something I’ve looked forward to through my four years on drill team,” Kabnurkar said. “The seniors before me have obviously performed at senior pep rallies and I am really excited to carry on this tradition.”
The pep rally enables younger students to envision their future as seniors according to Ciara Willis, generating enthusiasm for the years ahead.
“I think the pep rally is important because the younger classmen get an idea of what it’s going to be like for them,” Willis said. “The younger classes can imagine themselves being seniors in that pep rally and being excited for the years to come.”
