The girls’ basketball team did not get the results they were looking for in the Dallas Mavericks Fall Classic Thursday-Saturday after being knocked out in the semifinals to Argyle.
“To be honest, I am a little disappointed because I think that we could have done better as a team and I believe the outcome should have been different,” junior Kathryn Murphy said. “We have room for improvement for sure, and are ready to come back this week stronger.”
Part of a struggle on the weekend was due to a lack of players with the team playing five games in the span of three days with only a team of eight.
“The last two games were when we just got really tired and did not come out as strong as we did for our first three games,” Murphy said. “We were all pretty tired and were sore.”
Even though the tournament was not as successful as they hoped, girls’ head coach Ross Reedy believes the tournament was a good learning experience.
“We got to see a little bit about ourselves, and where we are currently and how we can get better,” Reedy said. “I mean, we’re still really excited about this group and it’s just you know a matter of polishing some things up.”
