Students to receive FEF scholarships Tuesday
May 10, 2016
The Frisco Education Foundation will be hosting its annual Scholarship Night from 7-10 p.m. Tuesday at the Dr Pepper Arena.
Graduating seniors applied for the available scholarships, which vary in value, and awards for scholarships are submitted directly to the student’s choice of college or university. Scholarships are awarded for achievement, community involvement, volunteer efforts, or criteria designated by the donors.
Senior Lindsey McVeigh is one of the many students who was invited to receive a scholarship from the FEF. McVeigh said that she would be appreciative of the scholarship because it would assist her financially at her school of choice, University of Arkansas.
“I would feel really rewarded and feel special for being recognized for something by the Frisco board,” McVeigh said. “[The scholarship] would help with all the college tuition and it’s not cheap going out of state.”
