Sitting on a two game losing streak, the Redhawks boys’ basketball team hopes to turn it around Friday when they take on the Independence. The team has been practicing for this game by focusing on scoring.

Taking on the Independence Knights, the boys’ basketball team will compete in their fifth game of District 10-5A play on Friday at 7:15 p.m. at The Nest.

“My expectations are for us to compete and to play hard and try to bounce back after a couple of tough losses,” head coach Bruce Wright said.

Hoping to end a two game losing streak, the Redhawks have been preparing for Friday’s game by focusing on the little things.

“To prepare for tomorrow it’s been a lot of getting back to basics, a lot of shell drill, where you’re supposed to understand that the little things matter the most,” Wright said.

With the Redhawks averaging 44.3 points per game, point production is an area for improvement.

“We’ve been working on scoring in practice because we’re usually a low scoring team,” sophomore Gilbert Aluga said.
