Even though the team was not able to place in the Trojan Classic one Redhawk was able to soar above. Senior Taylor Clapp achieved her 100th win at the meet.

Although neither of the Redhawks wrestling teams placed during the Trojan Classic at Euless Trinity Friday and Saturday, the event marked a milestone for at least one member: girls’ captain, senior Taylor Clapp, who notched her 100th career win to become the 19th member of the “Century Club”.

“And just like that, we have the next member of the Century Club,” assistant coach Viviana Espinoza said. “It takes a lot of hard work and effort to get into this very elite club”.

Clapp, who had one of the higher winning records among Redhawks at the tournament, also received praise from her teammate, junior Ace Schueler, upon being inducted into the club.

“[Taylor] is an amazing wrestler and an even better leader,” Schueler said. “She inspires us to always do our best regardless of if we win or lose”.
