Soaring well above their biggest district competition with a 53-28 win, the Redhawks girls’ basketball team moved to 8-0 in District 10-5A play after defeating the Memorial Warriors Tuesday.
“I’m glad we beat Memorial because they’re pretty much the only competition we have in the district,” sophomore Lilian Johnson said. “Beating Memorial and playing really well as a team makes me more excited for the playoffs.”
Even though it was an important win, the Redhawks were still able to find learning moments according to Johnson.
“I learned that defensive busts can make a difference,” she said. “Most of the points they scored were because of errors we made. As we prepare for the playoffs, it will be important that our defense is solid.”
