Girls’ basketball jumps right into round two of state playoffs, after being crowned Bi-District champions on Tuesday. The girls’ will take on Hillcrest High School Thursday in hopes of advancing.

After a slow start against Walnut Grove, girls’ basketball is now only one game away from a perfect record after a 54-23 win over the Wildcats Friday at The Nest.

“We struggled a little bit on the defensive end and really didn’t make a lot of our shots,” head coach Ross Reedy said. “Offensively, we were kind of streaky in the first half, I’d say the best thing that went for us was we came out in the second half, and we had a big third quarter.”

The game Friday celebrated three Redhawks seniors, being a bittersweet moment for senior Keyera Roseby.

“It was definitely a bittersweet moment, just knowing I got through three years of this program and all these girls on the team,” Roseby said. “I love them so much, and it was very bittersweet and sad, but we won so it was a good game.”
