Taking on the Emerson Mavericks on Tuesday, the Redhawks soccer teams hope to find success on the pitch. The boys celebrate their seniors, while the girls are in need of a win.

Taking on Independence Friday, soccer got mixed results on the pitch. The boys saw their first win, shutting out the Knights 4-0. On the other hand, the girls could not find success on the field, losing 12-0.

“I think we’ve had a lot going well all season and it finally all came together,” assistant coach Kyle Parks said. “We finally scored more than one goal, like we did in the first three games, and then our defense held up.”

Even though the team took a double digit loss, senior Mikya Irvin learned that mindset is a must while on the pitch.

“[We need to be] giving our 100% effort during the game no matter if we’re winning or losing,” she said. “By building each other up more on and off the field.”
