Four Redhawks wrestlers soar down to Houston Friday and Saturday to compete in the State Championship Final. “We’ve punched our ticket to state and now this is where we lay everything on the line,” head coach Justin Koons said.

Four Redhawk wrestlers – senior Taylor Clapp, junior William Randolph, sophomore Dani Banks, and freshman Angel Machiri – are advancing to the state meet in Houston Friday and Saturday with Clapp and Randolph entering as regional champions and Machiri as an alternate.

“We’ve punched our ticket to state and now this is where we lay everything on the line,” head coach Justin Koons said. “With all the effort we’ve put in to get to state, we just need to see how things turn out.”

In his first year going to state without being an alternate, Randolph is excited for what lies ahead.

“I feel really good,” he said. “This is my first time getting past regionals. Last year I made it to regionals but wasn’t able to wrestle because I was an alternate, so this feels good and I’m ready to go to state.”
