Everything is on the line for the girls’ golf team Monday as they compete in the District 10-5A tournament at Twin Creeks Golf Club with the Redhawks set to tee off at 8:00 a.m.
“The girls have played all their individual tournaments for the year,” head coach Shannon Glidwell said. “They have played 10 rounds of competitive golf and what they have done outside school. Hopefully, they are ready to compete.”
As the Redhawks take on the rest of the district, they have their eyes set on qualifying for the regional tournament.
“We have a good chance to qualify for regionals,” Glidwell said. “We will have to limit our mistakes to be able to beat our first cut because they are very strong.”
One thing the Redhawks have going in their favor is their experience playing at Twin Creeks.
“We have played at this course before so it will be familiar to the girls,” Glidwell said. “I believe that we have reached our peak in perfect timing with our season.”
For junior Ally Geradot, their experience at Twin Creeks will ideally benefit them in the district tournament.
“I believe we will do very well, we have been working hard and preparing for this,” Geradot said. “We have been able to practice at Twin Creeks before our tournament and hopefully that is an advantage.”
With the top two teams advancing to the regional tournament, that’s the goal for the Redhawks.
“I think to score top two for our team is my biggest goal,” Geradot said. “I want to end the season with good memories and thoughts so I hope to accomplish that.”
