Taking the next steps towards establishing an early-season win streak, the Redhawks baseball team (2-1) defeated the Princeton Panthers (0-1) 7-4 at Riders Field Monday night.
NFL player Jameis Winston’s quote, “A minor setback for a major comeback”, proved to be true Tuesday for Redhawks baseball. The group originally started down 5-1 to the Heritage Coyotes, but turned it around for a 7-6 win.
“I thought last night’s win was great because we came back from being down when we were struggling to get going at first,” junior Ben Pierce said.
With the win came other major successes on the field.
“I think our situational hitting was great and the bullpen pitched lights out,” Pierce said. “It’s also nice getting a win when our ace hasn’t thrown yet.”
