It all comes down to this, in their final game of District 10-5A play against Centennial Thursday, the Redhawks must win in order to secure a playoff spot.
“We aren’t nervous, but we know what is at stake and realize what we have to do,” junior Jackson Pierce said. “We have to play good, period. We haven’t played good baseball the past two weeks and we have to find a way to come out on top.”
The final district game also celebrates Redhawks seniors. Senior Wes Weaks is excited about this special long awaited recognition, however, the gravity of Thursday’s game takes some of the excitement away.
“I’m very excited for senior night tonight, but it is sort of a bittersweet moment because of what it signifies,” Weaks said. “I’m happy that there is a day to recognize the seniors but today is a very important game which takes away a little bit of the surreal feeling about it.”
