A win Friday over Lone Star will send the Redhawks baseball team to the second round of the UIL 5A playoffs. The Redhawks beat the Rangers 7-2 in the opening game of the three game series.

Redhawks baseball looks to have a repeat of Wednesday when they take on Lone Star for the second time this week in game two of their three game playoff series at Independence.

“It’s gonna be the same game plan,” assistant coach Easton Moore said. “Just hit the fastball, be on time, and make them make place.”

If the Redhawks are to win Friday they will move on to the next round of playoffs, however, a loss will bring them to a third game against the Rangers.

“We would rather just beat them in two,” junior Jackson Pierce said. “We want that extra time to prepare for the next round, and not stress about a third game. But if we did have to go to a third game we for sure got that.
