Students around campus are taking the AP exams up until the last day of school on May 17, but in some cases, some students are taking two AP exams on the same day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
That’s the case for sophomore Saanvi Patel who is taking AP Spanish 4 and AP Biology on May 16.
“I am preparing enough for both of my tests on the same day by studying each topic properly and doing all the practices that I find,” Patel said. “But I am afraid of feeling tired before my second test which could potentially affect how I perform.”
Students trying to score a three or above frequently put in hours of studying for just one test, with the workload possibly doubling when two AP exams are on the same day.
Taking AP World History and AP Computer Science Principles, sophomore Diya Pothuguntla is quite nervous about this because AP World History has a lot to study for MCQ, LEG, SAQ, and a DBQ.
“I do not feel prepared enough to take both exams on the same day one because it’s close to the last day of school and the exams are for the whole year curriculum,” Pothuguntla said. “I also feel like I would be so mentally exhausted after the First AP exam and that I would be able to do well on my second AP exam.”

I’m a junior in high school and had to take two AP’s last Friday on the 10th. AP US history in the morning and then AP Spanish Literature in the afternoon. Not only was it extremely stressful, but testing went on even until afterschool hours since we started a bit late for Spanish Literature. We didn’t even have time for a full lunch break in between exams. I just quickly ate a granola bar during the ten minutes my school gave us before resuming testing. I was pretty hungry and tired afterwards 😔
