Wingspan: What position do you play in football?
Johnson: ”I play the tight end and the defensive end positions”
Wingspan: When and why did you start playing football?
Johnson: ”It started in middle school and I was curious about it because everyone was playing it, so I decided to give it a shot.”
Wingspan: What is the most challenging part about playing football?
Johnson: ”The most challenging part is sometimes it’s super hot outside and you’re wearing the pads and practices get super hard.”
Wingspan: What’s your favorite part about playing football?
Johnson: ”I think the mentality behind it, everyone is a team and you have to stay strong and use grit.”
Wingspan: How has playing football impacted you as a person?
Johnson: ”I think it’s taught me to not give up so easily, and to not give up when things get tough.”
Wingspan: What do you hope to achieve this upcoming season?
Johnson: ”I just want to have a good season for myself, and the team as well and be able to help the team in any way I can.”
Wingspan: Are you planning on continuing to play football after graduation?
Johnson: ”I don’t plan on continuing, I think it’s a good high school sport, but I do not think I want to continue.”
Wingspan: How has the team been preparing for this upcoming season?
Johnson: “we have definitely been preparing a lot more intensely than last year, and we are a lot more focused. You can tell the team is more business and we want to lock in and play better. We have been doing great in the weight room and during practices.”
Wingspan: Who is your biggest supporter?
Johnson: ”I have to go with my parents, they come to everything no matter how far the game is, they always show up and support me.”
