From college applications to FAFSA, seniors have a lot on their plate. However, advice from the school counselors can make their lives a little easier and this week, the senior class is meeting one-on-one with the counselors.
“I think these meetings are helpful because I had questions that needed to be answered,” senior Cindy Trinh said. “I had questions about endorsements since the UT application has a question about endorsements.”
Financial aid is a major subject for students such as senior Arin Bhave.
“[Getting more information on] how financial aid might work in a situation where your income suddenly becomes really little would be nice,” Bhave said. “[Also, if it’s] possible to get a certain FA package one year and a different one a second year.”
Following the class invitation to the Conversations with Counselors event, seniors are given the opportunity to sit down with their counselors and ask more personalized, specific questions in a more private environment.
“I think the senior one-on-one meetings with the counselors are a great way for seniors to ask their questions about college applications,” Trinh said. “These applications mean so much to us seniors and it is important that we have our questions heard by our counselors.”
