The Redhawks couldn’t keep pace with the Centennial Titans on Friday at Kuykendall Stadium with the Titans pulling away for a 30-7 win.
“I think what really showed up was kind of our lack of experience,” head coach Matt Swinnea said. “I mean it was their senior night, they suited up 25 seniors, [and] we had 25 players total. I just think that we’ve got to mature in a hurry.”
While Friday might have ended in a loss, the Redhawks are still 0-0 where it ultimately counts as District 4-5A DII play has yet to start.
“We still have eight games left to play,” junior quarterback Khi Bunting said. “There is time to correct our mistakes and compete. I’m not worried we just need to have confidence in ourselves.”
