The Chick-fil-A of choice for many Redhawks is on 121 near Custer, 1.2 miles from campus. However, for approximately 10 weeks, this location was closed for renovations. But on Thursday, it opened back up.
“My entire family is Chick-fil-A crazy,” junior Andrew Gow said. “My sister and brother worked at Chick-fil-A for a combined total of ten years and they were both managers. I went to the Chick-fil-A headquarters this Labor Day weekend. [This new location] will help because it’s the closest location to my house so [now] I can get to Chick-fil-A faster.”
Coinciding with the reopening of the closest Chick-fil-A, the restaurant announced its plans to add a sixth location to the city, near the intersection of Coit Road and Eldorado Parkway on Brinkmann Ranch land.
“I think opening up a new Chick-fil-A location in the area would be great,” sophomore Valerie Nanton said. “It’s unequivocally the best fast food chain for its quality of menu and service, and the other restaurants in other areas are known hang-out spots for students in particular. So a new location would mean another great spot for students to go to with friends or just to grab a bite to eat on their way home.”
Both a customer and an employee of Chick-fil-A, another location in the area is a good move according to senior Jeremy Jessop.
“Chick-fil-A is always so busy, so having another CFA so close would really benefit workflow and the experience for both workers and guests,” Jessop said. “It’ll make work less stressful for myself and my coworkers [and] it’ll also be nice having two so close, because if one is unavailable, then the other one is almost just as close.”
