After beating Emerson 10-9 to clinch the fourth and final playoff spot in District 11-5A, the Redhawks tennis (4-3) takes on the undefeated District 10-5A champions Wakeland (7-0) for in the opening round of the playoffs Monday at Memorial High School.
The Redhawks face off against one of the top teams in the state as Wakeland defeated traditional state power Highland Park to earn its district championship.
Sophomore Ethan Tjong has been practicing specific skills in order to perform well at the match.
“We are feeling confident, as we have prepared well,” Tjong said. “[I am] focusing a lot on doubles and serving.”
