To apply the knowledge that they’ve seen in class, AP Government students are taking their first field trip on Tuesday as they head to the George W. Bush Presidential Library in Dallas on the SMU campus.
Students will have the opportunity to view documents and artifacts from Bush’s time (2001-2009) as president.
“I thought it would be a really great time and experience to pull together some documents that students may not have seen traditionally,” AP Government teacher Amanda Peters said. “Also a chance to see a collection from President Bush time in the white house ”
Some students consider this trip an opportunity to better understand concepts taught in class.
“I feel like its gonna be able to put everything into perspective and make it click more in your mind,” senior Addison LeBlanc said. “Especially because I’m more of a tactile learner being able to see it in person is gonna make me connect all the facts and recollect it better ”
