In their final match of the season before playoffs, the first-place volleyball team (12-1) seeks to notch a second win against the Emerson Mavericks (5-8), who currently sit in fifth place in the district standings. The two teams face each other Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Emerson.
With this match marking the end of the regular season, both athletes and coaches are reflecting on the progress the team has made since the start of the year.
“We have done a very good job of working through the kinks in most of our matches, becoming scrappier and more aggressive with our defense,” head coach Eighmy Dobbins said. “We just need to keep working on that and score against a good block.”
For senior Mackenzie Raymond, it’s a similar story.
“We’ve been working on new lineups this season and I feel like we found what works best for our team and have been improving,” Raymond said.
