In their final match before the start of playoffs, the first-place Redhawks volleyball team (13-1) traveled to the home of the fifth-place Emerson Mavericks (5-9) and walked out with a 3-0 win Tuesday, repeating their sweep from earlier in the season.
Going into playoffs, the Redhawks will face the Lone Star Rangers, who finished their season third in 12-5A with a 10-4 record, Tuesday at Lebanon Trail.
“I’m really really happy with how our regular season went and I’m very proud of the team,” senior Sophie Paulk. “At the start of the season we didn’t know what direction things were going to go for us, but all of our hard work paid off and I hope we can keep that going into the playoffs.”
Assistant coach Emery Judkins is especially proud of one particular part of the match.
“We won each of the sets by at least twelve points,” Judkins said. “We’ve become very good with shutting our opponents out defensively, and that will be important for us going forward.”
