Continuing play in the Mavs Classic, the Redhawk girls’ basketball team came out with a 40-25 loss against Argyle High School on Saturday.
“What we learned and what we’ve been practicing now looking back at our film against Argyle has been getting back in defensive transitions and lay-up buckets and three point shots,” senior Kathryn Murphy said. “In addition, we’ve also learned situational defense. We’ve looked back at our film and made corrections, so hopefully we’re ready for our next competition.”
The loss to Argyle presents head coach Ross Reedy with both pros and cons and connecting it to the future.
“We played a really quality opponent, probably one of the better teams in the state of Texas,” Reedy said. “It lets us know that in our best moments we can be on the court and play with another opportunity to beat anybody. On the other side of that, it also lets us know we have a long way to go in terms of being able to sustain that top end and we have to play mistake free and hustle the whole time.”
