It’s a first for the girls’ basketball team on Tuesday as the Redhawks face off against a collection of high school players from Australia at 1 p.m. in The Nest.
The Aussie team is a complete unknown to the Redhawks making Tuesday’s game a challenge.
“Since we don’t have film, we have to perfect our game and work on our offense so we don’t make mistakes,” senior Christal Webb said. “It’s definitely going to be hard because we don’t have [information] on their best players.”
To combat the problem of having no film, the team will have to come up with plays as the game goes on, which can be extremely difficult in the heat of it, as head girls’ basketball coach Ross Reedy said.
“When you don’t have anything to look at, you just kind of focus on your base packages, your principles, and what you do defensively and offensively,” Reedy said. “Throughout the game, we try to see how they’re trying to execute and what are some things within our scheme we can do to combat that and try to put them in some bad situations, doing that on both ends of the ball.”
