It wasn’t a full break for the wrestling teams as they took on Rock Hill and Lewisville in duel meets with the girls’ team taking down Lewisville but falling to Rock Hill.
“I’m very proud of the girls team for beating Lewisville,” girls’ head coach Viviana Espinoza said. “Rock Hill was a loss for them but they were a pretty tough team.”
For junior Dani Banks, the duels were a mixed bag as far as a challenge goes.
“Lewsiville was easy but Rock Hill definitely was competitive,” Banks said. “A lot of our team also wasn’t there so that had an impact on the team. Overall it was good and they got us pizza after.”
Although the boys’ team lost both of its matches, the team made the most of their time together with a pizza feast.
“The boys lost both matches because we weren’t able to fill a full line up due to kids being out on holiday or just banged up,” boys’ head coach Justin Koons said. “We competed well and after that we took the team out for pizza and celebrated Thanksgiving together before we sent them off.”
