Texas is expected to need 51,000 engineers by the year 2028 and Collin College is providing aid for those looking into engineering.
Frisco ISD and Collin College are hosting a webinar tonight from 6 to 7 p.m. to provide information on how students can get a head start of an engineering degree from Texas A&M by applying for the Texas A&M Engineering Academy.
Launched earlier this year the Texas A&M Engineering Academy at Collin College offers students the opportunity to take engineering courses at Collin and later attend Texas A&M to earn their engineering degree.
Through the program, qualified Collin College students can be admitted into the Texas A&M College of Engineering while they are working on their first two years of coursework at Collin.
Collin College is one of just nine colleges in Texas to participate in this program.
The program will be based at the Collin College Technical Campus in Allen.
