Boy’s basketball closes out non-district play on a high note

The boys’ basketball team (12-6) defeated the Denison Yellowjackets (13-3) 49-43 in an away game Friday, notching another win before the start of district play.

The boys’ basketball team (12-6) defeated the Denison Yellowjackets (13-3) 49-43 in an away game Friday, notching another win before the start of district play.

“We met all of our goals for the game,” assistant coach Robert Wilson said. “We limited second chance opportunities and from their shooter getting any clean looks, and made sure that we did not fall short in the second half the way we did against Wakeland.”

The Redhawks open District 11-5A play on Tuesday when they host the Centennial Titans at 7:15 p.m. 

Varsity basketball players did not respond to a request for comment.

Zachary Moland is a junior in his third year on the Wingspan staff. He is also a member of Academic Decathlon and NHS and a third-generation Eagle Scout. Christine Han is a senior and this will be her third year on the Wingspan staff. She manages social media for Wingspan and is also a photographer. She will be participating in her 4th year with the CTE Competitive Mock Trial Team. In her free time she likes to work in various women’s rights groups, read books, watch movies, and hang out with her friends. If she’s not too busy, she also likes to bake.
