Most Redhawks enjoyed an entire two weeks of winter break with no school activities, but the wrestling team tried to stay focused for the second half of the season..
“We kept the guys and girls in shape, went through drills, went over old moves, and learned new moves,” assistant coach Liam Hayes said.
The wrestling team practiced and got together a few times over the break.
“The wrestling team had 4 days of practice over the last 2 weeks just to get back into things so we can start the second semester off well,” senior wrestler William Randolph said. “We also had a team bonding trip and went out to eat. We just got back into the motion of things.”
With the District 8-5A tournament Jan. 29-30, the team has been training harder to prepare.
“We are getting ready for the district duel since it’s coming up in 3-4 weeks,” Hayes said. “The peak of the season is right around the corner so we are keeping everybody ready and in top shape.”
