The one and only home match of the year for the wrestling team comes with a special occasion when the Redhawks host Prosper and Burleson Centennial high schools Wednesday.
“Senior Night is tonight for the seniors to compete a little bit. We have one of the biggest senior classes that we’ve had in a long time,” head coach Justin Koons said. “We have 15 seniors. Not everybody is competing tonight but the ones that are I’m excited to see them go and hopefully we can win for them. The whole speech for the team was “for these seniors.”
Senior Night presentations will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the Redhawks set to hit the mat at 7:15 p.m.
Competing against two teams, the Redhawks have difficult competition they have to face.
“Senior Night I think is going to go pretty well. We are going against 2 different teams, Centennial and Prosper,” senior William Randolph said. “I’m coming back from an injury so my match might be a bit difficult.”
Although the competition may be tough, for Randolph, the seniors main goal is to have fun and enjoy their night.
“My coach said the match will be winnable,” Randolph said. “But I just hope everybody has a bunch of fun and does great.”
