Why are so many houses turning so modern now?
Of course, it’s obvious that we’re getting farther and farther away from the old days (unfortunately). But have you ever seen what the houses used to look like back then? They’re so gorgeous!
All the details are so eye-catching! The pretty wallpapers, the furniture, the exterior, everything!
It makes me so sad to see more and more of these houses get redesigned to look so…empty. So many modern houses are just white and grey, maybe sometimes another color. But all of the character and flavor washed away.
Some might think that maximalism is too much. In fact, Hot Topic was rebranded because some people complained that it was “too much.”
What, you don’t like fun? You didn’t like how loud it was even though the loudness of the store itself provided its uniqueness?
Maximalism feels like so much fun. Taking up every bit of space you can with cool decorations and trinkets brings life to the party. Minimalism just feels so uncomfortable because of how quiet and boring it is.
Have you ever read an I Spy book when you were little? Did you get a kick out of all the fun trinkets and colors that filled the page?
That’s because the books gave you something fun to fill your mind. Maximalism reminds you of the beauty and creativity in life and can even teach you and younger generations to appreciate every small detail.
Even when I go to school, I make sure to stack my jewelry. It feels like so much fun and I feel like I’m bedazzling myself! (And of course, the fun sounds the jewelry makes are like little bells.) I’ll just be wearing simple pants and a graphic tee, and immediately throw on three different necklaces, dangly earrings, and so many rings!
Maximalism feels so comforting and fun in its own way, and I will always go for that over minimalism any day. I want to see more colorful and beautiful houses and hopefully be able to work hard enough to get one myself. Learn to love the little things in life and have some fun.
