More than half of the Redhawks swim and dive team is competing in the Region III meet at the Bruce Eubanks Natatorium Thursday through Saturday, competing against teams from seven other Frisco ISD high schools.
“We have 19 out of 31 advancing to Regionals with big goals to achieve,” head coach Zachariah Gnoza said. “We will have to work very hard, but have been feeling very confident in practice.”
Senior Jonathan Pearl is one of those competing, even with an injury.
“I’ve been fighting an injured shoulder and knee for a little while now and this is my last shot at going to state,” Pearl said. “I am pretty excited to be able to compete at this meet and have some high expectations for it as we have a really good shot at qualifying for state. This meet is also pretty stressful for me as due to my injuries I’m limited to only one relay which is my only ticket to state.”
