19 members of the Redhawks swim and dive team competed in the Region III meet at the Bruce Eubanks Natatorium Thursday through Saturday, going up against teams from seven other Frisco ISD high schools. The girls and boys teams took fourth and seventh place in their respective divisions, and twelve athletes are advancing to the state meet.
“Overall, we did really well,” head coach Zachariah Gnoza said. “It was a move in placement from last year, so that was good.”
Sophomore William Whitehouse is satisfied with the results.
“I feel like the outcomes of the meet were amazing,” Whitehouse said. “We had way more people make state this year than we have in a while and we had tons of personal best times.Team goals were one hundred percent met, one of the boys relays that we put a lot of work into over the past year finally made state, and yes my individual goals were met too with my top 16 finish in the 200 freestyle.”
