Starting their season off on a positive note, the Redhawks softball team (1-0) defeated Fort Worth Paschal 18-8 at The Nest Tuesday.
“With the adjustments we made, this was a great test of our adaptability, teamwork, and resilience,” head coach Tiffany Thayer said. “We gained a lot valuable experience that will help us grow as a team throughout the season.”
“I think it went surprisingly good,” Bond said. “We started off behind but compared to other years we were oddly calm. Like we knew we would be able to come back, and the rest of the game was pretty close and Addison did a great job pitching.”
A team with only 11 girls, the Redhawks did not only pull off a win but run-ruled Fort Worth Paschal.
“We scored 12 runs in the bottom of the sixth making the score from 6-8, 18-8 and we run-ruled them ending the game,” Bond said. “I wasn’t expecting us to run rule them.”
