Success Tuesday for the Redhawks soccer teams as neither boys nor girls lost against the Independence Knights.
For the second time this season, the girls tied the Knights 0-0.
“I’m happy with the results because the conditions were really bad,” junior Caitlyn Rubback said. “It was extremely windy and honestly so hard to play soccer, so a tie is good for me.”
A wind threat was in place during Tuesday’s game something which Ruback believes the Redhawks especially learned from.
“Knowing how bad the wind was I think as a team we should’ve realized that if we play a long ball the wind will stop it from going anywhere,” Ruback said. “So playing it simple would’ve been a better decision.”
The boys won 2-0, continuing to remain fifth in the District 11-5A table.
“It was a needed win,” senior Hector Jenkins said. “But we’re still in fifth so our next two games are more important.”
