Weather continues to be one of the most challenging opponents for the Redhawks track and field team as Saturday’s meet at The Colony was cancelled due to rain in the forecast so instead the team scheduled a dual meet against Braswell High School Friday.
Despite the change in the scheduling, freshman Draco Lorenso is ready to run.
“I just got put into two events,” Lorenso said. “I’m feeling great about the meet today because it’s just a dual and I hope we can sweep.”
With just one other team the Redhawks are competing against, sophomore Jacinda Ward is a bit more relaxed.
“I’m excited to go out and compete,” Ward said. “There’s not a lot of competition so it won’t be stressful but it will still be a good opportunity to go out there and practice.”
