The Redhawks hope future students will be crowding the stands around the softball field at the Nest Friday at 6 p.m. when the team (1-1) challenges district foe Centennial (0-2) on middle school night.
“Our biggest strength is our experience and team cohesiveness,” head coach Tiffany Thayer said. “We truly play for each other, which makes in-game situations feel lighter because we know we can rely on one another. Right now, our biggest challenge is dealing with injuries. We’re missing key players on defense, which causes a big shift for the entire team, and they’re also strong hitters in our lineup.”
Coming off a loss, junior Sam Byrnes has some goals for the game.
”We should work on our situational hitting, our approach at the plate, fixing our mindset before the game, and being ready to play confident going in,” Byrnes said.
