The golf team played in the Knights Invitational at the Bridges Golf Club Wednesday, their last tournament before the District 11-5A tournaments. The girls took first overall, while the boys placed fifth.
“It was a great day at the course,” assistant coach Adam Davidson said. “We finished very well in the standings competing against a very tough field of teams, even with some very tricky winds.”
For senior Britney Zhang, the weather and geography of the course made playing well a challenge.
“What made it really difficult was the wind, and there was a lot of uphill walking,” Zhang said.
Zhang also mentioned how the team plans to practice for the District tournaments.
“To prepare for districts, we’re going to practice our shorts on the PGA Frisco Fields Ranch, which is where the tournament is going to take place,” Zhang said.
