The Redhawks track and field team participated in both the Little Elm Lobo Invitational on and the Jesuit-Sheaner Relays on Saturday in their last meets before the District 11-5A meet April 2-3 at Kuykendall Stadium.
“The Lobo Invitational had schools that are in our district that we will see at districts so it gave us an idea of who we will be competing against race wise and for the field athletes as well,” boys head coach Robert Thayer said.
The Lobo Invitational featured Frisco ISD and Denton ISD schools competing at the Little Elm stadium.
“The meet this past weekend went really well, the girls competed,” girls head coach Khera Vay said. “It was a good indication of where we were going into districts and what we’ll be capable of doing. I think we’re on the right track.”
Facing off against nearby schools made the meet nothing out of the ordinary.
“I think the meet was good,” junior Greg Kinneer said. “The competition was somewhat familiar since we had dual meets with Braswell and independence earlier in the season and there were mainly Frisco schools there.”
