Wingspan: What’s your favorite thing about matches?

Mize: “I love the feeling you get when you wrestle, the adrenaline kick, it’s just fun.”

Wingspan: What got you interested in wrestling?

Mize: “In first grade, one of my guy friends Jordan Robison was like hey you should try wrestling and I always hung out with him so I was like might as well.”

Wingspan: Have you gotten any serious injuries?

Mize: “I’ve dislocated my thumb and that’s about it.”

Wingspan:  What motivates you?

Mize: “My parents because they’re always there for me, they tell me what to do and keep me on track.”

Wingspan: How do you prepare for a match?

Mize: “I usually go somewhere in a corner where I can be by myself and just hype myself up.”

Wingspan: How do you celebrate after a win?

Mize: “Shake the coach’s hand and shake the other coaches hand and just give my dad a hug.”

Wingspan: What do you hope to improve on?

Mize: “I hope to improve on my speed in wrestling this year.”

Wingspan: How are you planning to pursue this in the future?

Mize: “I’m trying to get a scholarship so I’m hoping to place in nationals and in state and I’d really like to get a scholarship out of state.”

Wingspan: Biggest accomplishment?

Mize: “Pacing fourth in Fargo Nationals, where I got to represent Texas as one of the top 50 girls to wrestle.”

Wingspan: Do you have a specific diet you have to follow? If so what is it?

Mize: “Not really I just drink a lot of water.”
