The Frisco ISD Board of Trustees will host a regular board meeting on Monday to discuss information regarding attendance zones modifications for the 2017-2018 school year.

“This is the meeting where time is set aside to hear from parents, students and community members regarding rezoning,” FISD Communications Assistant Director Meghan Cone said.

The FISD Board has been receiving feedback from parents and community members since rezoning proposals were first released in November.

“We want the community to know they can reach out to us with any questions or concerns,” FISD Director of Special Projects Shana Wortham said. “All input is shared with the Board of Trustees.”

The zoning adjustment will only impact incoming 9th graders and would allow the district to postpone the need for the 11th high school for at least one more year. Final decisions on zoning will be made in January.

“Now is the time for anyone who wishes to address the School Board in person regarding the proposals before a final decision is made,” Cone said. “We expect the Board to finalize zones for next school year during the next Board meeting on January 9.”

Monday’s meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. with a closed session before moving to an open meeting for the public.
