Frisco ISD’s monthly Board of Trustees meeting was Monday evening in the district’s Administration Board Room with trustees discussing various matters of district business including the decision to approve Brook Fesco, Liberty’s current Associate Principal, as the principal for Memorial High School.
“I’m excited for the leadership role. I think it’ll be interesting to be the person that gets to look at the campus as a whole and affect the change of the entire campus,” Fesco said. “[I’m excited for] growing in that role because this is a new challenge for me, this is my first time to be a principal [and] it’d be my first time to be the leader of campus. That growth for me-professionally will be exciting; I look forward to getting to know the campus, all the students there, the teachers and getting to know them.”
Monday’s meeting also included special recognitions, including students that competed in VASE, UIL theater competitors and track and field competitors that made it to state, and FISD military graduates.
In addition, the board held a discussion regarding the findings of intruder detection audits at Frisco ISD campuses.
The board also recommended a motion to approve the superintendent extension contract and approve the budget transfers for the general fund.
The board’s May calendar isn’t clear as there’s also a special board meeting Wednesday morning at 9:00 a.m. to approve the district’s budget for the 2024-25 school year and the election results from the May 4 Board of Trustee election.
