Senior grades are due Friday which means they are locked for the most part, giving seniors a few days for seniors to relax before graduation on Wednesday. .
“I’m really excited,” senior Kaitlyn Synatschk said. “I’m so glad to be out of here. I’m not stressed out at all because all my assignments are turned in.”
With grades no longer tied to class work, students have leeway to relax with classmates before leaving.
“I’m glad the grades are due now because it gives us time to chill a bit before we graduate,” senior Jonah Roberts said.
Although most seniors are glad to have their grades out of the way, some teachers are faced with obstacles to lock grades in for students.
“I have to make sure that all my assessments are done prior to, so that I am not grading on the last day,” precalc teacher Yasmine Secrist said. “It also helps me to catch kids that are failing in on level, so that I can get them retested.”
The grades coming to a close leaves a surreal feeling for seniors.
“It makes everything feel real,” senior Mihir Patel said. “It shows how much closer we are to graduating and becoming adults.”
