Nija Higgins Culinary Arts and Food Science classes spent the first part of the week competing in Cupcake Wars.

Doing their own take on the popular Food Network show, each group was given all the ingredients they needed including decorations.

They were also given a set of rules to follow.

One cupcake had to incorporate a cherry, another cupcake had to include the color red, and the third cupcake had to be an original creation.

Each group was given 60 minutes to make, bake, and decorate their cupcakes

Once the timer stopped the groups presented their cupcakes to a panel of judges.

After the judges finished scoring each cupcakes presentation, and taste, a winner was announced.

“I feel great,” senior Nate Ndgala said. “We only two people so I feel like we did pretty good.”
