The new season of the softball team has just begun and the coaches are finding lots of ways to prepare the team for the season ahead.

“In the off season we worked a lot on building the team chemistry,” head coach Martha Richard said. “Then as season started we actually went to group dynamics and spent a whole day on team building and growing our leadership throughout our team.”

While adding some additions, the team contains all of the same girls from last year excluding seniors, Madison Bryant, Jessica Lyle and Kaitlyn Climesmith who all graduated last year.

With new recruits joining the team, coach Richard sees the possibility of a better outcome than last year.

“I think this year our offense is going to be a lot stronger than it was last year I think we have a lot more depth,” Richard said. “I definitely think overall the program has grown and we’ve developed a little bit more and because of that development I think that we will have a more successful season this year.”
