Independent Study and Mentorship students took part in the Frisco ISD ISM Business Symposium on Wednesday where they had an opportunity to meet professionals, begin networking, and gain experience with mock interviews.

“The whole process is done to prepare students for the real world,” senior Rohith Perumalla said. “And for when students begin to do research interviews with professionals.”

The day was split into two sessions, with Liberty ISM students taking part in the morning session along with ISM students from Centennial, Heritage, and Independence.

Perumalla is studying computer engineering with a focus on the intersection of business and technology, and is using ISM to get one foot in the door.

“From the whole experience I really enjoyed being able to connect with different professionals and other ISM students from around the district,” Perumalla said. “I really appreciate the professionals coming in and volunteering their time to do the mock interviews because the feedback they give is really helpful when getting ready for going outside of the classroom.
