30 JWAC students are spending part of their Wednesday at UT Arlington for International Career Day.

“We are taking 30 students from the school,” JWAC advisor Tim Johannes said. “They get to listen to speaker and get more networking with people so it’s pretty cool.”

Students choose to attend five out of ten break-out sessions featuring presentations by international professionals. Along with the sessions, student will also learn business etiquette and how to interact with people from other cultures in a business setting. Several organizations will have information booths at the event to provide interested students with more specific advice.

“The event provided students with a wide perspective on global issues,” advisor Jeff Crowe said. “Including international careers, what they entail, and how to pursue their desired career path.”

The event encourages students to focus on their ideal profession and get tips on how to pursue those.

“I like hearing about all the professionals careers and learning about their life,” junior Sophie Thompson said. “It will help me in the future because it can help me with deciding on a career path and dealing with international culture.”
