Trash taints recycling

Students throwing out improper products in the recycling bins have slowed down the recycling process. Throughout the school there are several posters lining each hall with the proper instructions for recycling. However, even with these posters, some students continue to throw trash in the recycling bins.

All the items that could be recycled have a label on them and then yes we put flyers and posters up all over campus so if you have any questions you can just look at those posters or come find me and ask me,” campus Transition Specialist Alice Furth said. “[Improper items in the recycling bin] has my students picking out things that need to go in the trash rather than recycle bins and that can definitely prevent us from getting to all the classrooms and work rooms that we need to get to within a given period.
