The field at the northeast corner of Independence and Rolater is slated to be the future site of homes with grass rooftops after the Frisco City Council approved the developers plans Tuesday night.

Homes with grass rooftops could be coming to the area as the Frisco Planning and Zoning Commission met Tuesday tonight, where the commission approved the first step in making such houses a part of the Frisco landscape.

The northeast corner of Independence Parkway and Rolater Road, just west of campus, is currently an agricultural field, but owners of the property requested a rezone of it from agriculture to single family. According to Community Impact, most of the surrounding neighborhood residents have given positive feedback.

There will be more meetings to discuss the proposal before it eventually goes before the Frisco City Council.
