The school is hosting its annual course fair Thursday in the rotunda to allow students to get a glimpse of core and electives classes available to them for the 2018-19 school year.

“I’ll be going,” freshman Areebah Mahin said. “I think it’s helpful if you want to pick out electives for your next year’s classes.”

All classes were encouraged by the counseling department to set up booths to answer questions students may have or make an introductory video to be posted on the counselor’s corner to provide students with extra information.

“I can’t go,” freshmen Alexandra Stiles said. “So being able to watch the videos that some of the teachers are making is nice.”

This year the course fair will take place during advisory and all lunches whereas in years past it has taken place before of after school, making it difficultfor some students and teachers to attend.

“I think it will be much more helpful hosting it during advisory this year,” art teacher Fred Rodriguez said. “It’s going to make [coursese] more visible for students to come look at.

With the process for selecting course for 2018-19 underway, the course fair can be a helpful way for some students to get important information on certain classes.

“I think it’s going to help me decide what electives i will be taking next year,” freshmen Macy Jackson said. “I have a couple in mind, but being able to see the booths and ask the teachers questions will really help me make up my mind.”
