The district is making a tour of various campuses to help inform families and community members about the school finance system.

Staff, students, parents, and community members attended a finance night last night at Trent Middle School, and Tuesday night at Vandeventer Middle School.

The discussion was lead by Frisco ISD Chief Financial Officer Kimberly Pickens and focused on how taxes fund the school system in an effort by Pickens and the district to keep the community informed going into the 2018 elections.

Attendees learned about how the state funds the district and the impact of property taxes on that funding, something that many people might not be well-informed on when filling out their ballot.

The next finance night is Thursday in the Wakeland High School cafeteria at 6:30 p.m. followed by events at Nelson Middle School and Frisco High School next week.
